How Long Are You Going To Work Today?

Do you think that you can add more hours into the day to get one more deal? Are you by any chance one person trying to get the company going? You have our appreciation of your hardwork at least - we know that all your staff have gone home already without a care in the world, whilst you have the world on your shoulder's, and the worries about the debts at the bank. It's a hard life and no-one understands, not even your partner......alas, what to do?

Timothy Ferris, a bright American came up with the idea that businesses could save a lot of money by outsourcing to corporations like ours! Bright idea but how can it happen in practice? If you are on your own, or haven't got the capacity to do all you want to do - you might like to outsource the functions that do not need to be done in house, outside, but where to?

In America for example, there is a general tendency to outsource to a country that is familiar with the USA, suchas the Philippines where the population shares much of the heritage of America, like Christianity and as a second language, English. America also loves the way Filipinos work, and interact.

Although America uses other countries to outsource to, like India, India does not share a natural heritage with the US, India was never an American Colony, like the Philippines was. The UK uses India to outsource to (as India was a former British Colony) than the Philippines. however the mood is changing, particularly since Filipino labour as cheaper than India, and the Philippines has a more secure environment.

Forbes put's the Philippines amongst the ten top countries for outsourcing, and names Convergys. Time Warner, Chevron-Texaco, Procter & Gamble, all have call centers and/or BPO units. It list's among the strengths that companies looked for, English language skills, low costs, cultural affinity for the U.S. Hewlett-Packard has a major Transactional Center and a Principle Center of Application Development in Manila (The Philippines). It's two other Transactional Centers are in Newcastle (England) and San Jose (Costa Rica). Contact centers and back office operations. These are part of Business Process Outsourcing. It's a surging industry in the Philippines. John Forbes, of the American Chamber of Commerce, says "It's really quite spectacular. It's the fastest growing sector in the Philippine economy in terms of percentage growth. Although there is a high percentage of American firms outsourcing to the Philippines, UK businesses are equally  increasing there outsourcing requirements, and taking advantage of the cheap cost of labour, and the enthusiasm to the work ethic, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, Ersnt and Young, KPMG and Price Waterhouse have offices in Manila, and accountants in the Philippines are sort after by headhunters to places like New York, London, the Bahamas and other financial centers of the world.
