A day in the life of an Outsourcer
Waking up at 8 o'clock in the morning, Barry checks mail to find out what happened while he was asleep.
His appointment in Nevada has been set. He finds his travel information details together with the name of the hotel and his room number.
While eating breakfast, he fills himself in on the status info of his shipment to China. Package delivered right on schedule.
He has two new inquiries and a forthcoming P.O. for a new machine with a client in Malaysia.
Getting through with his staff meeting at his office, he glimpses on his mail to find that there's a problem with a supplier of gaskets at which he needed to solve badly. He typed in a short letter and pressed send.
Sitting back at his chair, he wonders how his virtual personal assistant would do right now with this new task.
At the elevator, while leaving the office to meet his wife for lunch at their favorite restaurant, he gets a message in his Blackberry from his virtual personal assistant that a proposal from a new gasket supplier would be sent shortly.
Grinning to himself, he shakes his head in amazement. The rest of the people on the other side of the world are sleeping and yet Linda, his virtual personal assistant, still delivers. "Doesn't she ever sleep?" He thought to himself.
After lunch, he got stuck with another meeting with his managers. When he returned to his office, he saw a package from Macy's carefully wrapped. He suddenly realized that it was his mother's birthday today. Again, his virtual personal assistant did a marvelous job on making him remember. "It was really a good thing to have somebody like her to keep me up to date." He thought to himself.
When he gets home from his mom's party, he sits in front of his computer and gets an online update from Linda, his virtual personal assistant. He gets a recap of what happened today and got advise on what to expect tomorrow.
He didn't feel tired. In fact, he felt so relaxed. Life hasn't been this relaxing since he started outsourcing.
"Anything else I can help you with?" Linda asked from her side of town.
He smiled and typed in, "Nothing more. Thank you for being such an angel."
