Twitter's Purchase of Virtual Assistance Website
A few years ago, a new kind of virtual assistance program website was established. It was a program that served as a storage device and at the same time as an organizer and reminder. This program worked by means of inputting all the appointments of a client and having them stored in the website's database. With the use of a special algorithm, the appointment entered is automatically sent to the client's email.
The virtual assistant's name was Sandy. Today, Sandy is now retiring from work after Twitter bought out her company I Want Sandy. There is speculation that Sandy's property rights were purchased by Twitter, however it was unsure whether the same virtual character will still be used for the same purpose.
The program is not totally reliable as it depends on its functionality to a computer program and that it only does a single task to remind the client of his/her appointments for the day.
There are virtual assistants that are real persons that can do just about everything that a client would ask.
Twitter may have had other purposes and reasons why it bought I Want Sandy. But the point here is that, why would I Want Sandy to sell off their asset, if it was profiteering? It could have stayed on with the business if it wais gaining the company more profits. But maybe this is not the case. What do you think?
