Outsourcing Blogging to A Virtual Assistant

Some companies that may not be aware of the benefits of social media for marketing and business communications may think of blogging as a very trivial exercise.  How can sharing little tidbits of information and interesting contents lead to the growth of one’s business?  Is the time spent blogging really worth it?

If you do your research online you will see that many companies- both big and small- use blogs as a way to communicate with clients and attract potential customers.  Having a company website is not enough especially if you are into retail.  With all the business websites vying for people’s attention, having an informational website where you tell the people what your company is and what your products are may not be enough to drive your sales up.

Blogs are used two ways: 1.) provide a less formal channel to discuss anything and everything related to a company’s business and 2.) enhance the search engine ranks of a company’s website.

With a blog, a company can choose to post direct ads, promotional announcements, news and information about the business or an industry.  The blog can also contain humorous content aimed at the company’s target market.  By providing entertaining or informative contents to the public, the public becomes more aware of the brand which can lead to the increase in sales.  Providing useful content to the public also gets them interested enough that they may decide to visit your company website to learn more about your company and your products.  As for SEO, a blog can contain essential keywords and back links that will help your website rank higher in the search engines.

The thing with blogging is, although it seems simple enough, it can surprisingly take a lot of time
.  Think about the blog as a newsletter you need to update regularly.  Just think of all the time needed to conceptualize content, create the text, look for accompanying graphics and all the other tasks connected with blogging.  If you are a busy business owner with meetings to attend to, clients to please, paper works you need to get done then you may not be open to the idea of adding blogging to your already full plate.  If this is the case, you should outsource your blogging duties to a virtual assistant.

A VA who has blogging skills can be very helpful in establishing and creating contents for your blog. A blog will help you raise your online profile which is very important when you operate an online business.
