Some Tips on Promoting Your Social Media Accounts


Social media accounts are useful for promoting your business but to maximize the exposure you can get from these social media accounts, you must also promote them.

Here are some of the things that you can do to promote your social media accounts:

Use your different social media accounts to promote your other social accounts- post links of your blog on your Twitter, post a link of your website in your blog, post your facebook URL in your LinkedIn, etc. 

All you need to do is to cross-promote your social media accounts.

Promote your Twitter account or Facebook account offline - If you speak to large crowds such as conferences you should definitely share your social sites to the people.  Add your website and other social media accounts at the end of a visual presentation. Tell people you meet about your social accounts during the perfect opportunity. You can also print the URL to your accounts at the back of your business card.

In Twitter, thank people who retweet your messages - this will let people know that you appreciate what they did and will encourage them to retweet your messages again in the future.  A little appreciation can go a long way in social media.
Use tags in Twitter - hash tags are keywords with the # symbol before the word.

Fill up your bio/profile- filling up your bio/profile with useful information about you or your company will help encourage people to add you up or follow you.  Filling up the account profile can help spread information about your company which is very important in attracting clients. A reader who reads your profile may find the information interesting and decide to read your website to know more about you, your products and services.

Use different content in your social accounts- you will get more followers if you use a good mix of different types of content.  Use photos, videos and articles to attract different types of internet users.  Not everyone has the time to read articles or interested in articles.  There are some internet users who use the internet primarily to watch videos or look at photographs. Make sure you have content that will appeal to them too.

Start a contest or promo for your readers- you can start a blog give-away or a Twitter give-away to attract more readers.  You don’t have to give away really expensive prizes, just make sure that the prizes are interesting and useful to your target market.
