Is the US Recession Over?
According to a recent survey, it seems like it. A survey conducted by the National Association for Business Economics (NABE), eighty percent of the 44professional forecasters that were surveyed believes that the worst of the recession is already over. This really is good news for everyone-- from business owners to the workers even if old jobs are yet to be restored. According to the survey, the worst of the US recession is over but it will take a long time for the economy to recover.
One of the industries that will receive this news positively is the virtual assistance industry. The industry offers outstanding flexibility to clients. This is why the industry prospers during economic recessions but still experience great business when the economy is good. The industry does not only offer flexibility to clients but also to workers.
For businesses that are experiencing an improvement in the volume and amount of transactions, hiring a virtual assistant may be a good move to ensure that the needs of the business are met without necessarily increasing the operation expense to a level that would make it difficult for the company to manage. By hiring a VA, the company can have the additional manpower as the company needs it. A company that has had to lay-off employees in 2008/2009 because of the recession can decide to hire a virtual assistant temporarily. The company can choose to hire full-time employees when it is certain that it can really cover employee salary and other benefits.
Virtual assistance is also an ideal set-up for employees that were let go from work during the recession. The worker can work on projects at home, even just a few hours each day. Working as a VA can tide a person over through the recession. Now that the economy is slowly recovering, a VA can expect to get more projects giving him/her the options to continue working as a VA or resume full-time employment once the economy has fully recovered. In the end, working as a VA can really be helpful for the worker and not just the clients.
