How Companies Can Use Social Media

The contents are created and consumed by people in social media, that’s why they can be used for practically anything people want to use them for.  Companies can use social media any way they want. Here are four of the major the things companies can use social media for:

  • Listening- if a company wants to learn anything about its industry, its target market, its customers and its business, it can use social media to listen in on people’s conversations.  If you want to learn about the things that people are saying about your company, you don’t have to hire an expensive research company to do the work for you anymore. Simply use social media to track what people are saying about your business.  If you want to learn about the latest news about your industry, you can also use social media for that. If you want to know more about your target market’s preferences then you can use social media to “listen” to your clients too.
  • Sell- use social media to sell. You can choose to do hard-selling if you want and if your business model allows for hard selling through social media without appearing desperate. Or you can use social media to subtly push your products to the market. You can sell through social media by discussing your products’ features using your different social media accounts. You can also engage potential clients in conversations that are not directly related to the products and services that you offer. Instead of always talking about your business, you can discuss other important or entertaining matters with the people in your network just so that they will help your followers trust you and trust what you say.
  • React- use social media to react to whatever is going on in the market or your industry.  You can use social media to quickly react to anything that is posted about your business online. You can also use the different types of social media to react to what your clients want and to provide satisfactory customer service.
  • Interact- use social media to engage your clients in meaningful conversations.  Interacting with clients teach them to trust in you.  Client engagement can also lead to curiosity for the clients about what you are offering and can also result in brand loyalty.
