Twitter Attracts Celebrities

One of the reasons some people use Twitter is the opportunity to follow the lives of celebrities.

Twitter is a social network that has become popular not just with the regular folks but with the celebrities as well. In fact, so many celebrities use Twitter now that it has also become an attraction for some people.  With everyone, from A-list celebrities to those in the Z-list tweeting regularly, some people sign up for the service so that they can follow their favorite celebrities.  Although there were already many people and celebrities that were using Twitter a few years ago, some celebrities are responsible for making the service even more popular.  One of the events that really pushed the popularity of Twitter even higher is when Ashton Kutcher started posting regularly and even challenged CNN, the news network to hit the 1 millionth follower mark.  Oprah also started using Twitter and other celebrities also followed. Soon celebrities and regular people were already interacting using Twitter and everyone realized just how powerful, fun and useful Twitter can be for communication. Celebrities use Twitter to connect with fans and to interact with them.  Many celebrities post random messages that make them more real and relatable to fans. There are some celebrities that use the network to inform people regarding their projects so that the people would come out to see them.  Twitter really humanizes celebrities and fans appreciate the direct line to their idols.

Twitter has really changed the way people communicate.  Families and friends are communicating via the network. Celebrities are tweeting with fans.  Companies are using the network to reach their target markets.  NASA uses the service to inspire the public and to make them understand what the company is doing. There have been hospitals that tweeted about surgeries as they were performed.

Twitter is a very useful tool for sending out messages about events as they happen. Twitter along with other social networking tools have changed the way people share and consume information. In the past, people read about events in traditional media after they had happened.  With social media people can share information about events as they are happening.  People can actually share and read about history as it is happening.
