LinkedIn Link with Twitter

Two powerful social media are working together to deliver great services to clients.

LinkedIn Corporation and Twitter Inc. have recently announced a partnership.  The partnership between the two social networks will allow the users of both networks to instantly post status updates on both their LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. The deal was announced in the beginning of this week.  The details of the agreement are confidential.  According to the senior public relations manager, Krista Canfield, the two companies will roll out services gradually over the next couple of days.

The agreement shows just how useful and powerful social media have become for individuals and companies.  LinkedIn is currently the top professional social networking site online.  Twitter is the most popular instant messaging service.  The partnership of the two networks also show how social media and internet communications are becoming the primary channels of businesses for communication with employees, clients, investors, partners and other people involved in the company.

The chairman of LinkedIn, Reid Hoffman talked about the agreement in an online video where he describes the partnership as an “integration of the business side of the tweets and Twitter with the business ecosystem of LinkedIn that make the two work together."

LinkedIn has over 50 million members while Twitter a micro-blogging site has more than 58 unique visitors each month.  When you tweet, you can automatically update the people who follow you in LinkedIn with your status updates.  When you post your status updates in LinkedIn, the message can be automatically posted to your Twitter account which makes your messages consistent for your two social networking sites.  The partnership also allows people to select the tweets that they want to be posted in their LinkedIn accounts so that the personal tweets can be kept separate from tweets about work and their professional lives.  The partnership makes it easier for people post consistent and integrated messages across their two social media accounts so that there is less effort involved in managing their Twitter and LinkedIn.  But if the partnership still does not help you cut down the time of managing your Twitter, LinkedIn and other social media accounts, you can choose to hire a virtual assistant to manage your social media accounts for you. With a dedicated person working on your social media accounts, you can be sure that your social media accounts are always updated.
