  • Make sure you have what it takes to succeed. There are several traits that will help you succeed as a virtual assistant. These traits are not secrets. They are the same traits that make employees succeed. Make sure you are willing to work hard and make every second count.   Be trust-worthy and dependable.  Dream of succeeding and have the will to push yourself to succeed.
  • Attend seminars- make sure you attend industry seminars or forums.  This can really help you network with other virtual assistants and learn more about the industry.
  • Make sure you keep your skills and knowledge up-to-date. There are so many virtual assistants out there. You are competing with thousands of virtual assistants globally.  If you do not have the skills that clients need, then how can you compete with the other people offering VA services?
  • Think like an entrepreneur. Now that you are working for yourself you have to start thinking like an entrepreneur. You have to think of ways to grow your business. To have a wider client base and to be able to charge premium for your services. You also have to take care of marketing your services.   You have to think about what brings better savings and better earnings for your business.
  • Be completely customer-oriented.  Always strive to serve your clients well. Their success will be your success too.  If your clients are happy with the way you provide them with services then when they become successful, they will continue to give you good projects.  It is important to maintain long-term relationships with your clients because it really makes life easier for you.
