Maintain a Positive Image

Maintaining a positive image is very important in business.

Your reputation is a currency for doing business. With a good reputation you can demand a good price, with a bad reputation, not only can you not demand a good price, it is likely that your business will not even last a long time. If you want your business to flourish, you must make sure that you take care of your reputation and that you manage to maintain a positive image. This applies not just to your real-life image but your online image as well.

Remember the following when trying to build and maintain a positive image:

  1. Own your online presence- make sure that you are using your trade names, trademarks and other brand elements online. Register your company name for a dot com. And make sure you are the one using all your brand images online. If you become a very large company, it is important that you have already established the use of all identifying names and images of your brand online.
  2. Make sure that the images that you use, the appearance of your website and all other social accounts present your business in a positive light- whether you like it or not, there are people who will judge your business based on appearances. Make sure that your website looks professionally done. Make sure that the appearance of all your social accounts pushes the kind of image you want to be known for.  You have to hire a good company to do your website and all your other online representation.
  3. Develop your copywriting skills- make sure you have good writing skills that can help you wrote good contents for your online accounts.  You will need copywriting skills for creating contents for your website and other social accounts. If you do not have an in-house copywriter or a marketing staff who has good writing skills, outsource the writing requirements of your business to a competent virtual assistant. You want to make sure that all the written communications from your business are all well-written.
  4. Do not lie- stay sincere and authentic in all of your interactions. Do not like and do not be too eager at providing confusing or misleading information about your business to anyone. You have to make sure that you are truthful so that you can really develop trust between you and your online followers. When your relationship with the public is built on trust, then it becomes easy to push your products to the public.
