Word of Mouth through the Internet
Word of
mouth marketing is very effective because people really trust other people
rather than companies. This is because when people talk about a product or a service
that they have no vested interest in, they usually just talk about a product
because they really like it.
Here
are some tips on how you can use the internet for your own word-of-mouth
marketing. You may not be able to force
people to talk about things that they don’t really care for. But there are things you can do to somehow get
people interested or to plant the idea in the minds of people. There are also
ways you can make people care even temporarily and just enough to have them
talking about your company.
1.)
Look
for the people who review products or who like to tell stories. There are people online who do product
reviews and just spread the word about good products simply because they like
to let others know about the good deals.
If you are absolutely sure you have a good product, send your products
to the person for a review. If that
person has a good reputation about doing reviews then you can really benefit
from a positive review from that person.
You want to have a review done by a person who doesn’t accept payments
and instead writes honest reviews.
2.)
Aside
from people who do reviews look for the ‘”influencers.” There are people who hold a strong influence
on their followers online. If you can
get these people to endorse your product then good. Make sure you create a campaign that will get
these people curious. When you catch the interest of the influencers, when they
talk about your product or your campaign, you can get good exposure.
3.)
Make it
easy for people to share your content.
Make it easy for people to share your content. If you have videos that have your brand names
in it or videos you hope to go viral just make it easy for people to share the
video by allowing embedding features. The same goes for other information or
content, make it easy for people to link to it or to share it.
4.)
Use
social bookmarks- digg, stumbleupon, and other social bookmarking sites are
very effective in spreading blogs, videos, photos and other content.
5.) Engage.
Engage people online. Get to know
them better, see what kinds of information they get interested in. Share
information with them and respond to them.
When you have a relationship with the people, then they become more involved
in your business as well.
