How to appear on Page 1 of Google
One of our client's asked this question recently, and said the way that we were doing it isn't working anymore.
Guus Ellenkamp, our business partner in the Philippines is an ace in getting our clients to the top of google.....
Guus explains..........
Our basic service starts with analysis in the form of a Monthly Internet Marketing Report. This report consists of the following:
- Management summary
- Customer profile.
- Background of website -> things like what do you want to achieve with your website.
- Marketing perspective from SEO point of view.
- Competitor analysis from an internet perspective.
- Structure and content of your site from a SEO perspective.
- Statistics (seen from the web as well as site statistics).
- Conclusions.
- Recommendations.
Please note that our recommendations could be anything:
- - Improve the structure of your site.
- - Improve the content of your site (like add specific keywords or change the html).
- - Create back links (‘cheap’ or ‘expensive’, depending of where your site stands).
- - Change the domain or make sure it targets the right region (in your case if you focus on the uk market we might recommend to move the site to blahblah.co.uk). Just setting the target region in Google for a ‘.com’ domain might also just do.
- - Create additional content.
- - Turn off indexing for certain pages.
- - Create some more or less hidden pages for link exchange or additional supporting content.
1. Check if your target region has been set to the UK in the Google webmaster tools as you use a .com domain.
2. My initial impression is that you focus on the higher end market looking at the brands. Let this come back everywhere in your site as I presume competition in the car area on the internet is enormous, so focus on your uniqueness.
3. Review your domain name (you may not like this, sorry): ifindanycar does not seem to have any relation with ‘higher end’.
4. Use the correct page structure, especially on your home page: you could improve that with the right use of h1, h2, p, etc. tags.
5. Review the content of your homepage from a search engine point of view.
6. Your site seems to have a lot of ‘car descriptions’ which might not give you the correct keywords to score with.
7. ???
Please note that I still believe, as Google also does, that a site is to be made for humans, not for search engines. However, in practice it is not that simple, so regarding (5) and (6) you might want to compromise user friendliness to search engine friendliness especially while you’re not an internet brand yet.
Going back to our service, in practice it would work like this:
1. We create an initial Internet Marketing Analysis report (8 hours @ EUR 20.00 is EUR 160.00).
2. You either follow or not follow the recommendations (for sample see above). The recommendations would normally involve additional cost, either with us, the web developer or any party you choose like a link building company.
3. The next month we create another Internet Marketing Analysis Report, which normally would cost like 4 hours. The remaining hours we will spend on our recommendations. Of course we can only change the site if you give us access, otherwise we might just create some links or articles elsewhere.
4. Cycle goes back to 2: you either follow or not follow the recommendations and will have either have a lot of result, some result or, rarely, no result.
In 2011 Internet Marketing is a continuous process and just part of your marketing (marketing budget). We don’t want to put any obligations to customers, so you can stop any time. However, in our experience the minimum effort required is 8 hours a month during 6 months, otherwise you won’t get any results, not even a proper analysis.
If you are not able or willing to invest 6 months times EUR 160.00 (US$ 229, £143, AUD 217) then we recommend to better do nothing and either start at a later time or do nothing at all as in that case we consider the investment wasted, not only for you, but also for us, as we have a name to protect.
Please note that we strive to have long term relationships with customers and try to understand their business and try to help them to earn more with their business. In our experience those things don’t come easy and don’t come cheap. Of course being located in The Philippines gives us an edge in our hourly rates.
I hope I explained a bit more about who we are and what we do as I think you expected,
Ready, set, optimize!
Why not make an order today and get the ball rolling?
