Your point is so well-taken. Most businesses now need both an SEO company and a PR firm! The two are merging and both are needed. Having a VA help you can mean the difference between getting it done and wishful thinking.

Hey Lawrence, I didn't even know you can bot twitter? I agree with your expression. Social Media is about personal connection not just keywords. I think perhaps many online business people are to eager to take short cuts in their hurry to make a living. I confess I have from time to time looked longingly at the shorter or easier route.

Fully agree with you. Twitters messages should also have good headlines to capture attention. To move subliminal reactions within readers brains. Knock people arm. Produce warm electric shock to mouse, to click upon and stimulate visitors to your website to become qualified leads. Then, give them what they want and sooner than later they become your customers. That's how I evaluate my effectiveness from twitters. My results so far, are amazing.

Lawrence - read your article on VA and social media experts on 1/24.

My comment to this is that I provided strategy and planning services to business trying to get started with social media. I am certified by the Social Media Academy www.socialmedia-academy.com and spent 22 weeks on specific strategy and assessment methodology. Even so, I do not call myself an expert in this field that is changing everyday.

I work very hard at training my clients to complete the work themselves. I have yet to find a VA who actually understands the strategy and marketing side of why uses one site versus another or a VA who spends any time on the action plan. They are however very good at completing the tasks I assign or if I give them the editorial calendar and detailed action plan.

Right up front when I start working with a client I ask about helping them build a relationship with an outside VA who I hand pick based on knowing they understand the medium we plan on working with.

So yes even I use Virtual Assistance - the smart ones who do more than regular administrative duties. I have also spent time actually training them to do the specific work I need, even at the risk of them just taking the work directly at some point.

I work as a VA and find that VAnetworking.com is a fantastic resource of information and help for new and aspiring VAs. I myself work as a VA in Scotland and find that more and more employers are catching on to the idea of outsourcing admin support as a cost saving device.
